DESCRIPTION:COVID-19 PANDEMIC REQUIRES SOCIAL DISTANCING AND WORSHIP IS ONLINE ONLY! \nHello. We’re glad you’re here! We believe that everyone deserves to experience God’s love in relevant and authentic ways\, especially during a pandemic! How are you doing? No one will remain unaffected by this pandemic. Covid-19 presents an unprecedented global health crisis that increasingly threatens lives and our quality of life closer and closer to home. Travel bans. School closures. Fear\, uncertainty\, and anxiety are among our responses while social distancing is necessarily becoming our default behavior along with thorough hand-washing. Don’t beat yourself up if you feel fear. Listen again to last week’s message and the admonition from 1 John 5:4: Faith overcomes fear as we let God’s word hold us\, not fear. We live by faith. \nSocial distancing is not a modern invention. In the message this week from John 9\, we will meet a man who experienced social distancing; from his family\, from his neighborhood\, from his religious community\, too. No one wanted him close. Except Jesus. Let’s not confuse social distancing with spiritual distancing. Remember that Jesus is as close as a friend\, offering living water that satisfies our deepest thirst\, and connects us to the presence of God\, opening our eyes to see! \nPlan to join us on Cold Spring Worship Online at 10:30 AM on Sundays. \n Read the scripture readings\, the Lenten devotional\, and the digital worship worship guide. We can practice spiritual closeness and social distancing at the same time! \n\nHow will you safely practice social distancing but stay spiritually close to others who need you? To others you need?\nWhat has God done for you? With whom will you share that through a phone call or email this week?\nThink about a time when Jesus corrected an incomplete understanding and brought healing?\nCould this health crisis be an occasion for more radical care\, greater compassion\, and wider inclusion\, or will we miss the opportunity to show the love of God to those most in need of it?\nGet connected this week. Pray. Give thanks. Thank you for supporting our mission to energize spirits and transform lives in new ways! Be safe as you live by faith\n\nAnd whatever your church background\, or no church experience at all\, you’re WELCOME! DESCRIPTION:Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic\, Cape Classical Artists has postponed the April 5th flute and harp duo concert with Teri Hislop and Stephanie Sussmeier\, and the May 10th Beethoven Birthday Celebration concert to 2021. Updates to the 2021 schedule will be posted here. \nThe Musikhaus Studio presents the 2020 Cape Classical Artists Concert Series – A Season of Duos in partnership with Cold Spring Presbyterian Church. All of this year’s five (5) concerts will be held in the historic Red Brick Church sanctuary. A reception in Price Hall will follow each concert. The community is invited to attend. There is no admission charge for the event and freewill donations are welcomed. \nDates for the 2020 Cape Classical Artists Concert Series. The approximately 60-minute tour starts in front of our red brick church and concludes in the air conditioned red brick church building. There is no fee for the tour. DESCRIPTION:On August 24\, 2019 at 5:00pm\, at Cold Spring Presbyterian Church\, Rollin Wilber will give a full piano recital\, where he will speak about the musical program\, and perform well-known works by Mozart (Fantasy in D minor)\, Schubert (Impromptu in F minor)\, Chopin (Ballade #1 and Scherzo #2) plus some alluring piano music inspired “by the sea.” \nThis imaginative recital will fill our historic Red Brick Church with inspiring music\, and after the recital\, guests will enjoy a delightful reception in Price Hall\, Cold Spring Presbyterian Church’s banquet and event facility undergoing renovation to better serve our community. Proceeds from the Summer Piano Recital will benefit the renovation project. \nPurchase your tickets for this very special Summer event for the entire family. $30 in advance. $35 at the door. \nROLLIN WILBER\nconcert pianist \nRollin Wilber was raised in the New York area\, within an extended family of professional musicians (father 1st Horn with the NY Philharmonic; mother\, 1st Horn with the New York City Ballet Orchestra). He began piano studies at age eight with his grandmother (a rare female concert violinist in 1900) and began performing publicly at the age of 16. He graduated from high school one year early and received a music degree from Temple University in Philadelphia\, where he pursued more than ten years of study withMaryan Filar\, internationally acclaimed pianist and Chopin interpreter. \nRollin has been an active recitalist for the last forty years\, including performing numerous concerto solos with local orchestras. He has had his own performing piano trio\, teaches piano\, and is a composer of piano and vocal works and music written for the theater. He created his own series of dramatic narratives within a music recital\, presented as “Stories in Concert;” and developed original music educational seminars called the “Art of Listening” series\, exploring the language of expression in live music\, debuting it at the Chautauqua Summer Institute in the summer of 2000. This was followed with his extensive offering of new and original music performance seminars\, called “For the Love of Music.”​ \nHe is a founder and artistic director of the music presenting and performing group\, FINE ART MUSIC COMPANY created in 2010.Going into their tenth year\, it presents seasonal offerings of highly innovative music programs and concerts\, designed to create greater intimacy and involvement for their listening audiences. It is heading into its 10th season\, with performances at the Philadelphia Ethical Society on Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia\, and at “Ivy Hall\,” an restored mansion with ballroom located on historical Lancaster Avenue in west Philadelphia. \nRollin also was responsible for restoring the grand chandelier at the Cold Spring Presbyterian Church recently\, through his own antiquelighting & restoration company (THE ANTIQUE LIGHTHOUSE in Philadelphia). He created this small business in the 1990’s in order to pursue his musical life more easily. This beginning to intermediate level multigenerational choir is geared to students who have been introduced to band\, choir\, or orchestra in their schools or adults who are interested in learning handbells.

DESCRIPTION:The Cold Spring Church community is saddened by the passing of member and friend Jane Peacock on December 29\, 2018.  Margaret “Jane” Peacock was active in worship\, Presbyterian Women\, and the Busy Bees for many years. She will be deeply missed by her many friends. Please keep her family in your prayers. \nA memorial service and Witness to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and Celebration of the Life of Margaret Jane Peacock will be held at our red brick church worship center at 3:00 PM on Friday\, April 26\, 2019. \nFriends and family will be received at the 2:00 PM viewing. Internment follows at Cold Spring Church Cemetery.
