DESCRIPTION:The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday\, February 14\, 2018. (Yes\, its Valentine’s Day! What a perfect time to experience God’s love as we begin our Lenten journey!) \nCold Spring Church will offer a special worship experience from noon to 12:45 pm. Ash Wednesday was designated centuries ago to recognizes our fragility and mortality\, were it not for the grace of God. In humility\, but also with confidence in Christ\, we ask that the Lord remember once more our entire creation and breathe new life into our burned-out\, dusty lives\, communities\, and the world. This is a service for the imposition of ashes for those who wish to receive them. Pastor Kevin Yoho’s message\, Investing in the Spiritual Marketplace\, will offer assurance that though we are dust\, we are baptized dust\, and where we invest ourselves makes all the difference. The community is invited to attend. Invite a friend as we begin our Lenten journey toward the cross\, and at last on Easter\, remember that the Living Water gives us new life. \n(A great way to conclude your Lenten journey is to attend our Easter Sunrise service at Sunset Beach at 6:45 am\, and/or attend our 10:30 Easter Celebration Worship on Sunday\, April 1\, 2018.)

Bring your questions and concerns. \n  \nCaring and Serving: “You never know who’s coming through the door!” \nHurting people\, looking for love and caring.  Deacons and other caregivers are called to respond. How can you help? \n  \nOlder Adult Ministry: We often focus on young families and ignore the faithful seniors in or near the church. Come and share ideas and learn ways to work with older adults. \n  \nWORKSHOPS – 3:45 pm to 5:00 pm \n  \nElders’ Forum Part 2: See above for a description.  You do not need to have attended Part 1 to come to this portion of the Elders’ Forum. \n  \nMen’s Ministry: How are you serving the men of your congregation?    \n(Presenter: Rob Riehl) A men’s group could help them become more deeply committed to Jesus Christ\, to your church and community and to your mission. \nThe Church as a Community Destination: (Presenter: Dr. Kevin Yoho) Is the energy you spend reaching out achieving the results you really want? There’s hope! This workshop offers you new tools to make the connection. \n  \nCreating a Manual of Operations: All sessions are required to develop a manual of administrative operations. The Deacons are the community mission team for our congregation and receive a special offering each week. Projects the Deacons have lead include the Gingerbread House Building Event\, Easter Egg Hunt\, Children Christmas and Easter Gifts\, and our welcome bags. The Deacons also manage our prayer requests that are received each week.
